Fondse word jaarliks beskikbaar gestel vir beurse om verdienstelike kandidate die geleentheid te bied om 'n M- of D-graad te verwerf. In die geval van 'n M-graad is die oogmerk om kapasiteit te skep by diesulkes wat hul in staat sal stel om 'n bydrae te maak tot hoë gehalte wetenskaplike navorsing in proteïen-voorsiening en/of proteïenbenutting ten opsigte van dierevoeding.

Omdat dit die hoofdoel is om navorsers op te lei en 'n M-graad as voldoende opleiding beskou word, sal beurse vir 'n D-graad slegs oorweeg word indien die studie-onderwerp van besondere belang is vir die PNS.

Suksesvolle kandidate moet 'n goedgekeurde navorsingsprojek uitvoer onder leiding van 'n erkende studieleier by 'n erkende universiteit en die projek moet aangewend word as gedeeltelike vereiste vir 'n nagraadse kwalifikasie.

Ons maak staat daarop dat universiteite aansoeke krities sal evalueer, nuwe aansoeke in prioriteits-volgorde sal lys en slegs die bestes aansoeke sal indien. Slegs aansoeke wat deur universiteite voorgelê is, sal oorweeg word - sluitingsdatum vir beursaansoeke: 30 September.

Funds are made available by the PRF on an annual basis for bursaries to assist deserving candidates to obtain an M- or D-degree, that will enable them to make a contribution to high quality scientific research regarding the supply and/or utilization of protein in respect of animal nutrition.

As it is the main objective to train students to become researchers and the M-degree is regarded as a sufficient qualification in this respect, bursaries for a D-degree will only be considered if the research project is regarded as a high priority by the PRF.

Successful candidates must conduct an approved research project under the guidance of a recognised promoter at a recognised university. The project must be completed in partial fulfilment of the requirements of the postgraduate qualification.

The PRF is also depending on universities to critically evaluate each application and prioritise new applications before submitting only the best applications. The PRF will only consider applications that have been submitted by universities. The deadline for applications is 30 September.
