5.   Projects financed

The Protein Research Foundation funded 16 research projects in 2016/2017 (see Annexure 1). This was one project more than the previous year. Two (2) of the 16 projects were new projects, while 14 were continuations of existing projects. The total number of funding applications was 16. Of those only one (1) project was not approved.

Three (3) projects (see Annexure II) were completed during the year, but the final reports are expected only by the first half of 2017.

For 2017/18, 17 applications were received. Two (2) were new applications. These applications will be described fully in the next research report.
